Currently the movement in the dairy industry is all about expansion, efficiency, and animal comfort. In new to construct projects this development shows a total different way of building and housing. Often freestall dividers are situated in double rows on a concrete stall floor with a width of 5 meters. This results in more space for the animals. And one is not only looking for more room in the length of the stall, but in the height as well. With the model 'Universe' Spinder offers a divider with a height of 130 cm, which answers to the new concept of “open” freestall dividers. The model 'Universe' has still the distinctive Spinder design in the lower part of the divider which ensures optimal comfort when the animals are resting. To situate the animal in the right position in the stall, a good quality mattress and an animal friendly knee rail are essential. The mattress has to be comfortable, but also has to provide good grip to give confidence for laying down and standing up. An animal friendly knee rail has a height of 12-15 cm, is slightly flexible, and should be round. While chewing their cud, the cows like to relax with one leg over the knee rail.
